Day 1 :
Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains – Dinsho Headquarters

Fly from Addis Ababa to Robe (Bale Mountains Airport) and transfer to Dinsho Headquarters, the main entrance to Bale Mountains National Park. After a short briefing and coffee break, begin a gentle acclimatization hike around the headquarters area.

This area is rich in wildlife, with opportunities to spot Mountain Nyala, Menelik's bushbuck, warthog, reedbuck, and baboons, as well as endemic birds such as the Abyssinian catbird and wattled ibis.

Walking time: 2–3 hours
Overnight: Dinsho Campsite
Altitude: ~3,100 m

Day 2 :
Dinsho – Web Valley – Habera Campsite

After breakfast, begin trekking through the scenic Web Valley, following rivers and open grasslands toward Habera Campsite. This region is one of the best places to search for the Ethiopian wolf, along with rock hyrax, raptors, and endemic bird species such as the blue-winged goose.

The landscape becomes increasingly wild and remote, offering a true wilderness experience.

Overnight: Habera Campsite
Altitude: ~3,500 m

Day 3 :
Habera – Mararo Valley – Wassema Campsite

Continue trekking across high-altitude terrain toward Mararo Valley, an area known for its dramatic views and nesting sites of lammergeyers and Verreaux's eagles. The open moorlands provide excellent chances to spot the Ethiopian wolf and other highland wildlife.

Enjoy sweeping views of the Bale Mountains as you make your way to Wassema Campsite.

Overnight: Wassema Campsite
Altitude: ~3,900 m

Day 4 :
Wassema – Sanetti Plateau – Goba / Robe

On the final day, trek toward the Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa, characterized by vast Afro-alpine moorlands, alpine lakes, and unique vegetation. Wildlife sightings may include falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian wolf.

After completing the trek, meet your vehicle and transfer to Goba or Robe for the end of the tour or onward travel.
