This short trek is ideal for travelers with limited time who still want to experience the highlights of the Bale Mountains. The route takes you through juniper forests, alpine meadows, moorlands, and river valleys, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, birdwatching, and photography.

Day 1 :
Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains – Dinsho Headquarters

Fly from Addis Ababa to Robe (Bale Mountains Airport) and transfer to Dinsho Headquarters, the main entrance to Bale Mountains National Park. After a briefing and coffee break, begin a gentle acclimatization hike around the headquarters area.

This area is rich in wildlife, with chances to see Mountain Nyala, Menelik's bushbuck, warthog, reedbuck, grey duiker, and baboons, as well as endemic birds such as the Abyssinian catbird, wattled ibis, and Abyssinian flycatcher.

Walking time: 2–3 hours
Overnight: Dinsho Campsite
Altitude: ~3,100 m

Day 2 :
Dinsho – Web Valley – Habera Campsite

After breakfast, begin trekking through the scenic Web Valley, following rivers and open grasslands toward Habera Campsite. This region is one of the best places to spot the Ethiopian wolf, along with rock hyrax, raptors, and endemic bird species such as the blue-winged goose.

The trek offers beautiful scenery and a true sense of wilderness as you move deeper into the Bale Mountains.

Trekking time: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Habera Campsite
Altitude: ~3,500 m

Day 3 :
Habera – Sanetti Plateau – Goba / Robe

On the final day, trek toward the legendary Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa. The landscape features vast Afro-alpine moorlands, alpine lakes, and unique high-altitude vegetation. Wildlife sightings may include falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian wolf.
After completing the trek, meet your vehicle and transfer to Goba or Robe, marking the end of the tour.
